I just returned from a business trip to Toronto and my wife gave me a book to read while on the plane. I tell you honestly, this book is a life changer! The book is called ” The Go Giver” and was written by Bob Burg and John David Mann. I usually don’t read fiction but this was worth the read. It is based on a ambitious young business man who gets introduced to a Mentor who teaches him ” The Five Laws of Stratospheric Success”.

I guarantee this will change your paradigm about what you believe success is in business and life. Please take the time to buy this book and pass it onto family and friends.

Just returned from a last minute getaway to Phoenix with my wife. I used her birthday as the excuse for the last minute booking but it was certainly worth it. I had never been to Phoenix but I always received rave reviews from friends who said it was” the place to go”. Seeing as I like Palm Springs, this seemed like a no brainer to me. Warm weather, desert and sun.

We booked a 2 bedroom condo off the internet that seemed like a great deal and was located right downtown Phoenix. Turned out to be a nice, roomy condo but the pictures on the net showed the balcony of this unit overlooking the pool. Not quite, Not even close. Oh, did I mention the construction behind the complex?!

Anyway, stayed 2 nights and managed to get a last minute booking at the Arizona Grand Resort. It is located in the Tempe area of Phoenix and was spectacular! The staff were excellent and even let us book in early to get settled. It is a quite large resort and we got a one bedroom suite overlooking the Oasis Water Park. This is a full water park with slides, wavepool…the works! The resort pools were located in the courtyard and one even had a pool bar and grill. Nothing like lunch service at the pool while you are on your laptop! Did I mention there was a golf course at the Resort as well? I did manage to hit a bucket on the range and I am getting closer to returning to the ‘hacker’ tour.

Overall it was a great week and the weather was fantastic. I definately would get back to Phoenix again and it inspired me to start a Phoenix vacation blog. (coming soon).

Just set up my Facebook account and started searching for old friends and acquaintances. Sure was great to start hearing from childhood friends and schoolmates. I am pleased to know I am not the only one going grey!

Returned last week from a 5 day stay in Korea. It was business related and went very well and signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide home packages for their 270 lot Development. I will keep you posted on our progress and you can see some pictures here.

I sold my first home in Real Estate!! Great couple, Brock and Jenn were looking for their very first home and bought a condo. Congratulations to you both and I think I will start a Real Estate blog next as I foresee I will be busy there as well.

I have learned in the last couple of years that developing residual streams of income is a great way to prepare for shortages in business and to prepare for retirement. We all know that we cannot depend on a Government pension to survive. In the next few blog entries, I will teach you how to get started and show you what works for me and hopefully inspire you to get started and grow an additional monthly income.

I decided to invest in the MyRealPage system that includes daily updates of listings in our area through their VOW system (Virtual Office Website) that icludes real-time updates of new listing usually 2-3 days ahead of www.mls.ca This allows our clients to see listing well ahead of most buyers allowing them a distinct advantage in a competitive market.

This version of www.listwithlarry.com should be up by May 1st so check back.

I am flying to Calgary today to meet with a Korean Developer who flew to Canada to meet with us regarding panelized homes for his Development near Seoul, Korea.  I will update and let you know how it went.

I just posted on our Company blog, www.blog.abshomes.com , about a competitor and the sales ploy they are using. This is one of the oldest tricks in the book and I think you will find my response interesting. It really affects all aspects of our consumer lives. Let me know your thoughts and feedback.

I am a firm believer in attending seminars, reading articles and books, to help improve my knowledge and to gain insight from other business people. This will hopefully allow me to avoid setbacks others have gone through and streamline our business here.

Attending seminars not only can be costly, they also mean that I have to block off time to attend and my time is very valuable right now. I have also had time where there were 2 or more seminars at the same time, so you miss one due to scheduling. Well the latest ingenious thing is ” The Virtual Seminar “. Can you imagine no travel costs and you can listen live at your time schedule and even order the MP3’s and trasncripts of the sessions you could not not listen in on. I have signed up for the November 10-17th online virtual seminar and so can you by clicking here . Some of the speakers include Kendra Todd (first female Trump apprentice winner), Senator Bob Graham, T. Harv Eker, Barbara DeAngelis, and 32 others. Registration started on September 26, 2006 and might be worth the look.
