Phoenix VacationJust returned from a last minute getaway to Phoenix with my wife. I used her birthday as the excuse for the last minute booking but it was certainly worth it. I had never been to Phoenix but I always received rave reviews from friends who said it was” the place to go”. Seeing as I like Palm Springs, this seemed like a no brainer to me. Warm weather, desert and sun.

We booked a 2 bedroom condo off the internet that seemed like a great deal and was located right downtown Phoenix. Turned out to be a nice, roomy condo but the pictures on the net showed the balcony of this unit overlooking the pool. Not quite, Not even close. Oh, did I mention the construction behind the complex?!

Anyway, stayed 2 nights and managed to get a last minute booking at the Arizona Grand Resort. It is located in the Tempe area of Phoenix and was spectacular! The staff were excellent and even let us book in early to get settled. It is a quite large resort and we got a one bedroom suite overlooking the Oasis Water Park. This is a full water park with slides, wavepool…the works! The resort pools were located in the courtyard and one even had a pool bar and grill. Nothing like lunch service at the pool while you are on your laptop! Did I mention there was a golf course at the Resort as well? I did manage to hit a bucket on the range and I am getting closer to returning to the ‘hacker’ tour.

Overall it was a great week and the weather was fantastic. I definately would get back to Phoenix again and it inspired me to start a Phoenix vacation blog. (coming soon).

Regards,

Larry
