Grey Cup Sunday in Calgary and Other Things…
Officially Grey Cup Sunday here in Calgary and we are experiencing a “Chinook” from the West bringing some nice warm air to town. Currently 8 degrees Celsius so should be a pleasant day for Football. Now personally, I really don’t care who wins as I am a BC Lions fan. Most of Calgary seems to be siding with the Riders to keep the cup in the West. Should be a great game.
On the home front, I heard from my youngest Son the other day, Joshua, who informed us that we are going to be grandparents! Can you believe it?! Yes, our Josh and his wife Rebecca have confirmed she is pregnant and this will be our first Grandchild. Excited for both of them and of course Robin is beside herself with excitement. I will keep you posted on a due date.
Just finished booking our Winter Holiday on Friday. Going to Mexico for the first time and have chosen the Mayan Riviera and the Resort “Gran Bahia Principe Akumal”. Reviews seem good and we leave the first week of January for 7 days. Looking forward to some sun/beach time and just relaxing. Told Robin we would book a holiday once the business sold so the pressure was one. I bought a waterproof housing for my ‘FLIP’ camera so I can take some video and pictures while snorkeling…should be fun. Plan on seeing some Mayan ruins down there but not much touristy stuff. Just sunning, eating and reading. Keep an eye oon this blog in January for videos and pictures while we are down there.

Above is the picture of the Resort and beach from the website. Looks nice to me!
To your weekend and next holiday,
Larry

Non-Religion Conference in Seattle
No, I didn’t attend a non Religion Conference in Seattle this weekend. I was reading in the Calgary Herald today that approximately 600 people were gathering for a Non-Religion Conference to celebrate their atheism as well as other displeasure of any organized Religion.
This included the people behind the bus advertising like “There probably is no God, so go ahead and live your life anyway”. Now if you have been following my blog you know I am a Born Again Christian and in all likelihood should be offended by this Conference. Nope…not at all. I am against Religion too! Let me explain.
I was raised in a non religion home and knew nothing of God. When I became a Christian at 21 years of age, it was then I realized who God was and what I was missing in my Life. To me , Jesus is not a religion he is my Savior and Lord. He did not say he was coming to start an organized religion but to save the lost and set the captive free. Man started Religion, not God.
Today there are allot of religions and organizations that put more emphasis on ‘duty’ to God vs. relationship with God. If I am being told what to do and when to do it in order to be ‘right’ with God, there is a problem. I know what God wants me to do and what He doesn’t want me to do.
I do understand why people spend so much time trying to disprove God and convincing themselves there is no God. They may have had a bad relationship with a Church or person and maybe there was a tragedy in their lives where they asked where is a God in this? Been there myself. I also know that if you can convince yourself there is no God then there is no consequence for sin or other moral lapses and Jesus’ death on the cross was non consequential.
I really don’t believe there are true atheists…I believe these people haven’t yet had a opportunity to believe and meet God. To them, I say be open like I was and ask God if He truly exists, to make Himself real to you.
Maybe there will be less people attending this Conference next year. I pray this is true.
God Bless You,
Larry J Clark
